At last, some pictures of what looks more like a car than the odd component.

The front over rider wasn't as difficult to do as the rear, partly because it only has one spacer not two and partly because I knew more about what I was doing this time.

Even so the first install did have the bar some 3 inches away from the body, but at least the spacers could be cut down!

Things moving along nicely now.

The header tank is in, just need the right pressure cap now.

Also the heater is finally in and what a job that was, upside down in the passenger foot well, drilling through my favorite material.

This has been fitted in reverse so I don't have to route the feed and return water pipes through the screen washer bottle ;-)

Both units now need rather a lot of tubes and pipes added, some will have to be done after the engine is re-installed, something I'm beginning to think may happen soon!

I had to go and get some more bits today whilst waiting for some other parts from Dax. I was 'told' to replace this nice shiny glass fuel filter with a cheap plastic affair because these can break apparently and that's not good!

I also had to route the fuel line over the chassis which required some copper fuel pipe, a few bends and connectors.

With a bit of luck the heater elbows will arrive soon along with the missing front over rider. Everything that needs to be done before the engine goes (back) in is now ready to do!

I also bought some liquid rubber to cover the under side of the front and rear wings this will give some protection against stone chips from underneath.

The hoop is now bolted into place and the boot opens on it's own. It also stays up!

There are a dozen bits of carpet to be fitted to the boot and dozens more for the cockpit.

I can't decide where to put the rear fog light or whether to have a reversing light or not.

Monday, collect the car.

Tuesday get it back up on the stands and remove all the bits that might get in the way.

Wednesday start putting bits back in the right place - windscreen washers and wipers and install the washer bottle - more holes drilled in the stainless steel. Fit the hoop.

Thursday start fitting the heater and realise some bits are missing. Ring Dax. Give up on that and start fitting the boot trim, rear lights etc.

Friday fit the rear bumber and over riders - what a nightmare that was.

Well I'm lost for words at this point, so here are some pictures of the car on it's return from 7-Indulgence the paint shop. An absolutely fantastic job by Neil.

A little less boring I suspect, here it is all ready for its final coats of paint. It should be back home early next week.

Blue! but such a nice shade.

Sorry for the boring pictures! I've been to see the car at the paint shop a couple of times, but it is still grey, having had the doors, boot and bonnet fitted nicely and the body smoothed off. It was due to be primed today.

The holes for the front over riders were completely in the wrong place so I've also been to Dax to get hold of some templates. I'm glad that was discovered before we actually had the car painted.

In the mean time the garage has been cleared and the floor painted with an anti-slip acrylic paint (only available in grey I'm afraid).

Next week I need to be doing some 'secret' work on my PC that may become clear later in the year.

Picked up the upholstery today and tried the instruments. They seem to be OK.

Seats are small, but perfecttly formed.

Garage has been cleaered up and is awaiting some non slip paint for the floor.

Could be gone for a while, but it will be back, watch this space.

All ready and wrapped up for delivery to paint shop on Friday.

A series if pictures can be found here of it's last few moments.
